Readme for PGOPHER downloads

The available files are listed below. Note that the data files are
interchangeable between versions.
Windows
See the Windows installation
instructions.
- Pgopher.exe
- 32 bit version; should run on any PC
- PgopherU64.exe
- 64 bit unicode version; requires a 64 bit version of windows.
This can handle larger problems, but for most use cases will be
no different to the 32 bit version.
- pgopher.chm,
the windows help file.
- TabSlaveU.exe,
a simple text editor optimized for use with PGOPHER,
the TabSlave Editor. This
is the unicode version that can handle characters outside the
ASCII standard A-Z range.
- tabslave.exe,
an earlier version of the above that is restricted to ASCII
text.
- slave.exe
provides an earlier version of the Slave Editor.
- The commandline directory contains
command line versions of PGOPHER.
Linux
See the Linux installation
instructions.
- pgopher-i386-Linux-gtk2.tgz
contains executables (Graphical and command line version of PGOPHER
and the slave editors) for 32 bit x86 machines.
- pgopher-x86_64-linux-gtk2.tgz
contains executables (Graphical and command line version of PGOPHER
and the slave editors) for 64 bit x86 machines.This can handle
larger problems, but for most use cases will be no different to
the 32 bit version.
- If you see a message about GLIBC or missing libraries try
files with similar names in the EPEL
directory which are compiled with an older Linux version (RHEL
6).
Apple Mac
See the Mac installation
instructions.
Sample Files
Sample files are available individually via the on-line help, or alternatively a zip
file containing all the samples is available as Help/samples/pgophersamples.zip.
Source Code
More recent development versions of the above, and versions for
other platforms may be available in the
development versions directory.
