This directory, http://pgopher.chm.bris.ac.uk/pgopher-beta typically contains test versions for the next release of PGOPHER. You are encouraged to try these, particularly if you have experienced a problem with the current version as the issue may already have been fixed. The programs here have all passed a test suite for for calculations, but the user interface will not necessarily have had as much testing. Note that the versions for different platforms are not necessarily the same; the dates will give some indication. Please contact help-pgopher@bristol.ac.uk for more information
pgopher-MacOSX-i386-carbon.app.zip will not work on the
latest Mac OS versions (Catalina, Big Sur), but may be more
reliable on earlier systems.
pgopher-MacOSX-x86_64-cocoa.app.zip (and the supporting
editor,
tabslave-MacOSX-x86_64-cocoa.app.zip needed for some
advanced applications) will work on the latest Mac OS versions
(Catalina, Big Sur) and earlier versions but have had less testing.
