Installation - Mac
The Mac version is less well
tested, and should be
considered a beta version. Any problems are, however, likely to affect
the user
interface only, rather than the calculations. I have also had reports
of success running the Windows version on emulators for the Mac; speed
is only likely to be an issue for the larger calculations (asymmetric
tops, for example).
The website has an application
packages available for:
- PowerPC: pgopher-MacOSX-powerpc.app.zip
compiled for OS X Tiger (10.4) and above.
- Intel: pgopher-MacOSX-i386.app.zip
compiled for OS X Tiger (10.4) and above.
Unlike earlier versions, these do not use
X, so simply double click on the zip file to produce the application
that can be run in the normal way.
If the binary does not run on your
system you may need to compile from source, or email
help-pgopher@bristol.ac.uk.
The Help menu entries do not do anything
at the moment, but the
help files are available at
http://pgopher.chm.bris.ac.uk/Help/
and a zip file containing the current help files can be downloaded from
the
website.
