PGOPHER | <Prev Next> |
The Linux version is not quite as polished as the Windows version, but should be perfectly usable. Any problems are likely to be user interface glitches only, rather than the calculations. (A comprehensive test suite for the calculations passes on all systems.) PGOPHER should run on most recent Linux distributions as is provided the correct libraries are installed, mainly gnome support libraries.
The website has two tar files:
For either file, simply download and unpack using the command line (tar xvf <filename>) and run the PGOPHER executable (./pgopher). Executables (slave and tabslave) are also provided for the Slave Editor in the tar file, and this should be kept in the same directory as the PGOPHER executable.
If the binary does not run on your system you may need to compile from source, or email help-pgopher@bristol.ac.uk.
